Dalfen Industrial is developing two buildings in the first phase of the project near the city’s airport.
The two new industrial buildings are under construction n East Scyene Road.
Construction has kicked off on a huge business park in Mesquite.
The Mesquite Airport Logistics Center is a project of Dallas developer Dalfen Industrial and will include 2 million square feet of warehouse space.
Work began this week on the first phase of the project -two buildings with almost 1 million square feet.
“Mesquite has been a great business partner on this project,” Dalfen’s Tyler McElroy said in a statement. “They have stepped up every time we have reached out to make the vision of the Mesquite Airport Logistics Center become a reality.”
The two new buildings are scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2022.
“Today we are not just celebrating a groundbreaking,” Mesquite Mayor Bruce Archer said in a statement. “We are celebrating another benchmark moment in our extraordinary development journey in Mesquite.
In January, Dalfen Industrial bought land for the project near Interstate 635 and Mesquite Airport. The sites are on East Scyene Road.
Dalfen has already built a 45-acre industrial park on East Kearney Street near Interstate 635 in Mesquite.
Dalfen is an investor and developer of industrial properties in the U.S. and Canada. The company has been in the commercial real estate business since 1970 and entered the U.S. market in 1990.
Mesquite and other markets east of Dallas are seeing a surge in industrial building as demand for distribution space in North Texas has ramped up during the pandemic.
